Does the sheter have special events?

PRESENTS FOR PAWS It's time for the Animal Shelter annual food, toy and blanket drive - Presents for Paws. We will gladly accept donations Monday through Saturday from 10 am to 5 pm, and will be open on December 13, 2006 with extended hours of 5 pm to 8 pm especially for this event. Don't forget - pets are available for adoption! Come see us at the Tulare County Animal Shelter, 14131 Avenue 256 in Visalia. What services does Tulare County's Animal Shelter provide?
The Agency administers animal control services to unincorporated areas of Tulare County. The 50-run, 37-cage shelter facility opened in July 2002. With the priority of public safety, the Shelter also focuses on adoptions, humane education, and an aggressive spay/neuter program. The animal control program successfully adopts out hundreds of animals each year and provides community outreach activities. Animal control also provides dog-licensing services for County residents.
What parts of Tulare County does the Shelter serve?
The Health & Human Services Agency administers animal control services to unincorporated areas of Tulare County. Animal Control responds to field emergencies including dog bites, vicious animals, animal neglect, law enforcement requests, and public complaints. The unit provides kenneling and holding services for stray, sick and injured animals that have been picked up or brought into the kennel. Animals are sheltered at the County's animal control facility. The facility also includes a 29-cage cat room, and space for feral animals and livestock.
