How does the Water Quality Program protect Tulare County's water?

The Water Quality Program seeks to assure that public and private water supplies are suitable for domestic uses. Small public water systems are routinely inspected to assure proper operation and maintenance.

Water quality data is available on a Geographic Information System (GIS) software program. This will be useful as the County develops its 25 Year Plan due to the visual nature of the data's presentation.

Does this program also monitor groundwater?

Yes, the Local Oversight Program (LOP) provides oversight of groundwater and soil cleanup at leaking underground fuel tank (LUFT) sites throughout Tulare County.
