COMMUNITY HEALTH CENTER BOARD
What is the Community Health Center Board?
The Tulare County Health Care Centers provide health care to patients who may not otherwise be able to receive affordable medical care. The Community Health Center Board helps determine the rules under which the six Health Care Centers operate.
What do board members do?
Being a member of the Community Health Center Board helps to give patients a voice in how their Health Care Centers are run. Board members are able to share their ideas on the services the Health Care Centers provide, the hours they are open, and how much money it takes to run them. All the information you need is provided for you at monthly meetings.
Do I have to be a patient at one of the Health Care Centers to be on the Board?
You can be a caregiver to a patient, or someone in the community who's interested in learning more about how the County Health Care Centers are run. The Board is made up of people who share the interests of the patients we serve. Board members who are Health Care Centers patients will also receive $30 for every meeting they attend to help cover costs such as transportation and child care.
