Is there TB testing available?

The Tulare County Tuberculosis Control Program provides diagnosis and treatment services including case management and direct observed therapy (DOT) to individuals with TB disease. The program also conducts contact investigations, provides and monitors preventive therapy, and screens high-risk populations for TB infection. Physicians provide diagnostic and treatment services at the Hillman Health Center (pdf).

Where can I find out if I have TB?

Tuberculosis screening services are provided by medical providers at six (6) Health Care Centers located throughout the County. Public Health Nurses (PHN) provide case management and preventive therapy monitoring with the assistance of Community Health Technicians. Services are coordinated by the TB Clinic Nurse under the direction of the TB Controller (Health Officer) with assistance from the PHN case managers in the community.
