WASTE CLEAN UP EVENT SCHEDULED IN PORTERVILLE
Household Hazardous Waste Event Will Accept Waste Free of Charge


PORTERVILLE – Tulare County Environmental Health reminds residents that we all play a part in keeping our soil and underground water supply clean, and one easy step is to properly dispose of household hazardous wastes properly.

Tulare County Environmental Health will be hosting a Household Hazardous Waste Clean Up Event, scheduled for Saturday, October 17, 2009 at the West Olive Fire Station, 22315 Ave. 152, in Porterville. This free Clean Up Event will take place from 9:00 a.m. to 1:00 p.m.

Tulare County residents are encouraged to bring their household hazardous waste to the event for proper disposal. Items accepted include: used motor oil, used oil filters, antifreeze, gasoline, paints & solvents, pesticides & garden chemicals, aerosol cans, household and car batteries, fluorescent lamps and tubes, pool chemicals, and other hazardous household chemicals. Sorry, no business or agricultural waste can be accepted.

CSET’s E-Recycling Solutions will be on site accepting electronic waste at this event. Items that can be disposed of include: televisions, microwaves, computers, monitors, printers and fax machines, cell phones, copiers, ink and toner cartridges, and VCRs/DVD players.
