What is In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS)?

In-Home Supportive Services (IHSS) authorizes services to the aged, blind and disabled in order to help them maintain independent living. Services are delivered by independent providers and include domestic chores, meal preparation, laundry, reasonable shopping and errands and non-medical personal care services.
