An applicant family is eligible for CalWORKs when the gross monthly earnings, less $90.00, are less than the Minimum Basic Standard of Adequate Care (MBSAC) for the family size.

If your grandson's income is less than the Minimum Basic Standard of Adequate Care (MBSAC) chances are good that you would be eligible for CalWORKs; however, you are encouraged to contact your local Health and Human Services office to see if you are eligible.
I own my home that I live in, would I be eligible for CalWORKs?
Although there are other eligiblity criterion to consider, owning a home that you live in would not disqualify you from the eligibility determination for CalWORKs.
