Quality Improvement Program

The Tulare County Mental Health Quality Improvement (QI) Program is a crucial component of the System of Care. As part of the Managed Care Division, the QI Program leads in the development of evidence-based, systemic methods of identifying problem areas within the system. More specifically, QI focuses on identification of areas that limit access to services, quality of care, and consumer satisfaction. Once identified, these areas are analyzed and quality improvement projects are created to implement change throughout the System of Care.

Among the many tasks of the Quality Improvement Program is the development of the Quality Improvement Work Plan. This Work Plan is to establish a written description by which the specific structure, process, scope and role of the Plan is articulated. Problem areas or issues that have been identified over the course of the year are detailed in the Plan as are steps for problem correction and remediation.  This Work Plan is drafted yearly and submitted to the Quality Improvement Committee and Executive Management for review and approval prior to submission to the State Department of Mental Health.
