Tulare County Mental Health Board
The Tulare County Mental Health Board meets the 1st Tuesday of each month at the Health & Human Services Agency building at Government Plaza.
Each County in California is required by law to establish a Mental Health Board which is inclusive of community members, mental health consumers, family members and other stakeholders. The Tulare County Mental Health Board meets monthly to discuss issues pertinent to the quality and accessibility of the mental health services the County provides. The Mental Health Board votes on critical issues that affect consumers and family members such as changes within the Mental Health Plan, performance outcomes and measurements, data collection, and strategic planning. The Mental Health Board offers the community and Tulare County Mental Health Administration an important collaborative and advisory function and helps to create a system that is more accessible, efficient and quality driven.
The Tulare County Mental Health Board actively recruits for its Board membership. The membership of the Board is drawn from each of the five (5) Board of Supervisor Districts in Tulare County. The Welfare & Institutions Code, Section 5604 - 5604.5 establishes the requirements, scope and membership of each county mental health board. Applications for Board membership are reviewed by the Board of Supervisors.
