If I need help with my medical costs, who can I contact?

Tulare County offers several ways to assist you in covering your medical costs. Following is a short description of some of the programs that are available.
  • California Children's Services - CCS is a state-wide program providing treatment and rehabilitation services to children under the age of 21 who have handicapping medical conditions.
  • Healthy Families - To contact the Healthy Families program call 1-888-747-1222. If your children are from 1 year old up to age 19, they may qualify for very low cost health insurance provided by the State of California Healthy Families program.
  • Medi-Cal - Medi-Cal is a welfare program that gives cash aid and services to eligible needy California families. If a family has little or no cash and needs housing, food, utilities, clothing or medical care, they may be eligible to receive immediate short-term help.
  • SSI - The goal of the unit is assist clients in submitting a thorough and complete application package in order to be determined eligible upon application.
  • TCMS - TCMS is the Tulare County Medical Services Program. TCMS helps meet the needs of people who cannot pay their medical expenses.
  • Family PACT - Family PACT is California's innovative approach to provide comprehensive family planning services to eligible low income men and women. This clinical program increases access to services by expanding the provider network to include medical providers, pharmacies and laboratories.   • Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health (MCAH) - The goal of the Tulare County Maternal, Child & Adolescent Health Program is to provide comprehensive, family-oriented, integrated health services for all women and children.
  • Child Health and Disability Prevention- CHDP is a state program that provides preventive health for California's children and youth.
  • Breast and Cervical Cancer - TheEvery Woman CountsProgram provides diagnostic services for breast and cervical cancer to those women whoare low-income.
  • CHO - California Health Care Options may be available if you are eligible for Medi-Cal benefits.
  • Women, Infants & Children (WIC)- WIC is a nutrition program that helps pregnant women, new mothers and young children eat well and stay healthy.
