Communicable Disease Control and Prevention

Mission

The Acute Communicable Disease Control and Prevention (CDCP) Office is a part of the Tulare County Department of Public Health. CDCP’s mission is to prevent and control communicable disease in Tulare County utilizing the tools of surveillance, outbreak response, education and preparedness activities.

CDCP serves as the lead for the surveillance and investigation of suspected and confirmed communicable disease cases and outbreaks. Control of communicable diseases in Tulare County can only occur through collaboration between healthcare providers and others in the public and private sectors, CDCP.  CDCP staff consult with other Public Health staff—area health officers, public health nurses, registrars, public health investigators, school nurses and others.
