Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP)
AFLP is a program with special emphasis on services for pregnant teens, teen parents and their families. Anyone under 19, who is pregnant or has children (teen fathers included), and who is a resident of Tulare County, is eligible for the AFLP program. All services are free to all participants, regardless of income.
Case Managers help pregnant and parenting teens get resources like:
- Prenatal and postpartum care
- Family planning
- Well-baby care and immunizations
- Parenting classes
- Birth control
- Counseling
- Housing
- Legal assistance
Case Managers also help pregnant/parenting teens in making and achieving personal goals to:
- Enhance their growth
- Build self-sufficiency
- Become nurturing parents
- Delay additional pregnancies
- Finish school
- Develop marketable skills to get and keep jobs they want
