Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP)

AFLP is a program with special emphasis on services for pregnant teens, teen parents and their families. Anyone under 19, who is pregnant or has children (teen fathers included), and who is a resident of Tulare County, is eligible for the AFLP program. All services are free to all participants, regardless of income.

 

Case Managers help pregnant and parenting teens get resources like:

  • Prenatal and postpartum care
  • Family planning
  • Well-baby care and immunizations
  • Parenting classes
  • Birth control
  • Counseling
  • Housing
  • Legal assistance

 


Case Managers also help pregnant/parenting teens in making and achieving personal goals to:

  • Enhance their growth
  • Build self-sufficiency
  • Become nurturing parents
  • Delay additional pregnancies
  • Finish school
  • Develop marketable skills to get and keep jobs they want
