MOBILE FOOD FACILITIES

The mobile food facility category includes, but is not limited to:  lunch wagon, hot dog cart, ice cream vehicles, and push carts.

A mobile food facility must operate out of an approved commissary.  This requires a Commissary Approval form.  Note that if you are using a commissary that is not in Tulare County, you must have the Environmental Health Department of the County where the commissary resides also sign off on the Commissary Approval form

Mobile food facilities must 1) meet certain construction requirements, 2) file a Toilet with Hand Washing Facilities Approval Form and 3) acquire Food Safety Certification.  Finally, a mobile food facility also 4) requires an Annual Permit.  Reviewing the Mobile Food Facility Inspection Report sample below can be helpful to the applicant when used as a guideline for meeting food safety certification requirements.
