Private Water Sampling Program
In an effort to address private well water potability and to also get a better picture of the distribution of various contaminates throughout Tulare County we have initiated some changes in the requirements for private wells. As of August 1, 2005 all new and deepened private (1 connection/home) wells and public domestic wells (2-4 connections/homes) will be required to test for the following constitutents: bacteria, dibromochloropropane (DBCP) and nitrate for homes located in the valley area and bacteria, nitrate and gross alpha for homes located in the foothills and mountains.
