Public Water Systems

The general objective of this program is to ensure that water supplies are safe and potable for its consumers.  This is accomplished through periodic inspections, evaluation and sampling of small public water systems between 5 and 199 service connections/homes in Tulare County.

The California Department of Public Health has delegated our division as the Local Primacy Agency (LPA) for enforcing the state drinking water requirements with respect to small public water systems.  Our division is also a resource of information for owners of private water wells.
