Health Care Centers

The three Tulare County Federally Qualified Health Care Centers Look-A-Like clinics, located in Visalia, Farmersville and Tulare (Pediatrics), serve an important function to the community by offering primary, specialty and preventative health care to the residents of Tulare County regardless of their ability to pay, as consistent with the Agency’s mission to provide health care access to the underserved. These clinics offer interpreter services for multiple languages and TDD is also available.

Children’s Medical Services

California Children's Services (CCS) is a statewide program that arranges, directs, and pays for medical care, equipment, and rehabilitation, when these services are authorized by the program. Services can be authorized for children and young adults less than 21 years of age who have eligible medical conditions and whose families are unable to pay for all or part of their care. CCS medical staff select the most qualified of our network of professionals to treat the child's CCS-eligible condition. It is important to note that CCS is not a health insurance program and will only meet the health needs related to the CCS-eligible condition.

Child Health and Disability Prevention (CHDP) Child Health and Disability Prevention program provides complete health assessments for the early detection and prevention of disease and disabilities for low-income children and youth. A health assessment consists of a health history, physical examination, developmental assessment, nutritional assessment, dental assessment, vision and hearing tests, a tuberculin test, laboratory tests, immunizations, health education/anticipatory guidance, and referral for any needed diagnosis and treatment.
Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program

The Childhood Lead Poisoning Prevention Program (CLPPP) eliminates childhood lead poisoning by identifying and caring for lead burdened children, age birth to 6 years and by preventing and remediating environmental exposure to lead. The program also provides outreach and education on lead poisoning and the prevention of lead poisoning.

Breast and Cervical Cancer Control Program

The Every Woman Counts provides low-income women access to screening and diagnostic services for breast and cervical cancer. The goal of the program is to reduce breast and cervical cancer mortality rates in this under-served population.

Family PACT Family PACT is a State of California program, which provides comprehensive family planning services to eligible low-income men and women. This clinical program increases access to services by expanding the provider network to include medical providers, pharmacies and laboratories.
Diabetes Management and Health Education

The Diabetes Management program teaches diabetics about nutrition, exercise, staying well with diabetes, effects of diabetes on the body, and provides a better understanding of medication management of diabetes. The program aims to provide the necessary tools to the diabetics and their families to better manage their diabetes.
