Grants

The Tulare County Health & Human Services Agency Public Health Emergency Preparedness Program is funded by three main grants: the Centers for Disease Control’s (CDC) Public Health Emergency Preparedness (PHEP) grant; the State General Fund Pandemic Influenza grant; and the HHS Hospital Preparedness Program (HPP) grant.

PHEP Grant

The purpose of the CDC Public Health Emergency Preparedness grant is to support local public health jurisdictions’ preparedness for and response to biological, chemical, or nuclear terrorism and other public health threats and disasters.

HPP Grant

The purpose of this U.S. Department of Health and Human Services grant is to ready hospitals and supporting health care systems to deliver coordinated and effective care to victims of biological, chemical, or nuclear terrorism and other public health disasters.
