DENTAL PREVENTION (WHITER BITER)

How does the Dental Prevention Program help my children?

The Childhood Dental Disease Prevention Program (Whiter Biter's) provides dental health education and skill development to elementary school children, grades K-6, throughout Tulare County. Classroom demonstrations include brushing, flossing and the use of fluoride, as well as dental nutrition instruction. Participating classrooms are provided with toothbrushes, dental floss, fluoride and handouts for lesson follow-up and reinforcement. Teachers agree to have students brush daily in the classroom (usually 5 times a week), and rinse weekly with fluoride. Visual dental screenings and dental sealant clinics are provided for most of the program participants, with special emphasis on rural and underserved areas.
