ALCOHOL & OTHER DRUGS (AOD) JUVENILE COURT
Are there services to help if I'm a Juvenile with alcohol & drug problems?
Yes, Juvenile Drug Court. This program is provided through a collaboration of agencies designed to intervene in a youth's drug use and criminal behavior through intense supervision and recovery services administered through the juvenile court and HHSA Prevention Services staff.
What do I have to do in this program?
Drug Court is a nine-month program aimed at intervening in drug-use and criminal behavior through intense supervision and participation in recovery services. Initially, minors in the Drug Court program are required to appear before the judge every other week. At that time, the judge reviews the progress or lack of progress of the minor. At the end of nine-months, if the minor has successfully fulfilled the terms of the contract (determined by a point system), he will receive a graduation certificate. A graduation celebration will take place in the courtroom. Graduations will be held once a month.
