ALZHEIMER'S DAY CARE RESOURCE CENTERS (ADCRCs)
What if I have Alzheimer's and need help with care?
California has 36 Alzheimer's Day Care Resources Centers (ADCRCs) operating which provide a positive environment and care for persons with Alzheimer's Disease and other dementias.
The primary purposes of the ADCRCs are to prevent premature or inappropriate institutional placement of persons with moderate to severe levels of impairment due to dementia. They also provide support and respite for caregivers.
What services are provided?
The centers provide services that support the physical and psychosocial needs of people. The overall objective is to keep the participants as healthy and active as possible by helping them maintain their highest level of functioning.
What if I don't have much money, can I still participate?
Persons who have been diagnosed as having Alzheimer's Disease or some other type of dementia are eligible to participate, without regard to age or financial resources. Participants are requested to share in the cost of services and a sliding fee scale that is specific to each site. Call 559-784-4561, 559-582-3211, ext. 2828, or 1-800-510-2020.
