What is the Maternal & Child Health program?

The goal of Tulare County's Maternal & Child Health (MCH) program is to provide comprehensive, family-centered, integrated health services for all women and children from early pregnancy through infancy, childhood, adolescence and early adulthood.

What services are available to me if I'm pregnant?

Prenatal care is one of the most important gifts you can give your child. To help you we offer several programs:

• Perinatal Care Guidance (PCG) - early and continuous prenatal care
• Comprehensive Perinatal Services (CPSP) - giving your baby a healthy start
• Outreach for Healthy Pregnancy - focusing on women of childbearing age
• Great Expectations Program (GE) - provides services to expectant and post-partum mothers up until the child is one year old
• Perinatal Outreach & Education (P.O.E.) - outreach system for low income, high-risk women of childbearing age
• High Risk Infant -"high risk infants" and falling within the 0-3 age group.
• Medically Vulnerable Infant Program (MVIP) - serving babies that have special medical needs.
• Cal-Learn (CLRN) - provides supportive services and money reimbursements to teens under the age of 19 who have not graduated from high school and are recieving cash assistance.
• Adolescent Family Life Program (AFLP) - provides a variey of supportive services to teens under the age of18 who are pregnant or already have a child.
